UPDATE: Covid 19 and In Person Session Protocol
(May 25, 2020)
In accordance with government and public health guidelines, I will again be offering in person sessions. However, if you wish to continue to have appointments remotely you are welcome to do so for as long as you like. My, my family and my client’s safety is my primary concern, so if you wish to return to in person sessions the following protocol will be adhered to.
1) Anyone who has cold or flu-like symptoms, has traveled outside of the country in the last 14 days, is not at least 14 days recovered from the Covid 19 virus or who has someone at home or work who has recently been diagnosed with Covid 19 is asked to conduct their appointment remotely or rebook for an in person session when none of the above stated conditions exist.
2) As per my Statement of Understanding, my sessions are 50 minutes in length. In the past I have been flexible with the last 10 minutes used for administrative issue. Now I will be strictly adhering to the 50 minutes sessions and using that 10 minutes to cover admin issues including re-sanitizing my office, bathroom and entrance space.
3) My washroom and waiting room will remain available, but I encourage client to limit their usage. My waiting room is also my wife’s hair salon (we work opposite schedules). I will insure there is no overlap and out of respect for her work and client safety I want to use that space as little as possible. Thus I ask clients to time their arrivals as close to the scheduled hour as possible.
4) Hand sanitizer will be available in the entrance hall and washroom. Soap and paper towels will be available in the bathroom.
5) Physical distancing includes having moved my couch back. Further, clients will no longer use the chair on the west wall (closest to my desk). I encourage clients to use the couch, but if for any reason you need to use a chair, it will be the one on the south wall. Couples will need to share the couch. If you feel the need to use a face covering I suggest you consider a remote option, as masks impede communication.
6) Transfer of documentation including payment and receipts can be done mainly on-line and I encourage clients to continue to use this option as has been done for remote sessions. However, in the case of in office document exchange I will insure I have hand sanitizer available to facilitate a safe transfer.
I trust this provides assurances, however if you have additional thoughts let me know.
Regards, Graham
